The Grand Canyon
Less than 1 percent of visitors
to the Grand Canyon venture
below the rim. The elevation
change from the rim to the
Colorado River is
approximately 1 mile. I have
rode a mule and hiked from the
south rim to Phantom Ranch
several times.

Months of training make the 17
mile round trip relatively
comfortable, so to speak. The
journey is the reward and the
views are found nowhere
else on earth.
Several of the trips have
been with trail
companion, co-worker, and
longtime friend Jerry.
Here are examples
of images from the interior
canyon taken over the years
from what has become
an annual adventure.
